Allons-y

So, I've finished Doctor Who, and I really wish I hadn't since Series 6 doesn't start for another month, and it looks like it's going to be awesome, so  it seems I'll be turning to some old school stuff to get my fix...but I digress.

I don't have a favorite Doctor because all of them are really great in their own ways. I just wish Eccleston had been on for more than one season, but then we wouldn't have gotten all the Tennant episodes, so there you go. Tennant might be a step up because he was on longer, but I'm really liking Matt Smith, especially after Big Bang, and he still has time.

Donna Noble is probably my favorite companion with Rory being a close second...and I really need a guy like Rory, by the way. A guy who will wait 2,000 years for you? Yes, please. Captain Jack Harkness is in his own separate little corner, of course. I love any episode with Captain Jack. I also liked Astrid and Lady Christina, but they were very short-lived...for different reasons.

Up until the Pandorica arc, my very favorite episodes were the ones where the Doctor was hardly in them, at least physically on screen...Blink and Love & Monsters, for example.

In short, Doctor Who is made of win. No, it's not perfect. Yes, sometimes the stories are silly. But it makes me feel. I've laughed and cried, often in the same episode. I care about the characters. I want them to succeed, to live, and I want to be in on the adventure. Above all, it leaves me looking for that funny man in the blue box, and I think we all need a little bit of that.
